Job Summary
Process and maintain collection records, notices, logs, and documentation in accordance with department procedures and regulatory requirements. Post payments, agency remittances, adjustments, and account transactions in DNA and Temenos LMS while monitoring activity logs for bankruptcies, repossessions, and payment plans. Manage the negative share account lifecycle, including charge-offs, recoveries, and ChexSystems reporting, and process insurance and credit bureau disputes. Review correspondence, track referrals to outside agencies, and respond to member inquiries regarding payments and account information. Ensure collection activities are accurately documented, maintain audit readiness, and verify compliance with FDCPA, FCRA, and NCUA policies. This role supports the Collections Department at Suffolk Credit Union, ensuring accurate recovery activities and adherence to credit union standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certification
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in administrative, accounting, or financial services environment
- Knowledge of credit union collection and administrative processes
- Strong organizational and data-entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of DNA, Temenos LMS, and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive member information with discretion
