Job Summary
Carry out loading duties safely and efficiently on allocated collection rounds while applying safe working practices, waste collection processes, and customer service standards. Collaborate with Drivers, Chargehands, and Supervisors to ensure collections are completed effectively. Participate fully in required training, inductions, and development activities to progress through a structured Class 2 Driver programme. Successfully complete funded Class 2 licence training, including theory and practical driving tests, and perform daily vehicle checks once authorized. Report hazards, accidents, and operational issues promptly to maintain high standards of attendance and professionalism throughout the development period.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to follow instructions and safe working procedures
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake structured development
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Awareness of customer service standards
- Understanding of manual handling principles (or willingness to learn)
- Awareness of transport legislation, driver responsibilities and safe driving practices
