Job Summary
Conduct high-volume outbound collections for local and out-of-country accounts, utilizing databases, skip traces, and established contacts to recover overdue balances. Meet with patient families and guarantors while de-escalating upset callers and negotiating payment plans under manager direction. Request and interpret credit reports, prepare collection reports, and interact with collection agencies. Interpret credit reports, interact with collection agencies, and prepare collection reports. Manage small claims court knowledge for accounts requiring legal action and work closely with Paralegal services. Ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires post-secondary accounting education, five years of collection experience, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Full-time contract ending after 12 months.
Required Qualifications
- Post secondary education in accounting
- Minimum 5 years prior collection experience
- Excellent data entry and keyboard skills
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize duties
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in MSWord, Excel, Outlook
- Prior experience with HRCM
- Strong knowledge of Collection Agency Act
- Prior Customer Service experience and negotiation skills
- Previous OHIP/Accounts Receivable experience
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Privacy Act
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
- All required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada
- Applicable criminal record check
Desired Qualifications
- Post secondary education in accounting preferred
- Prior experience with HRCM preferred
- Strong knowledge of Collection Agency Act preferred and interaction with them
