Job Summary
Collections Associate role focused on communicating outstanding patient balances and ensuring self-pay collections align with insurance processing. Responsibilities include initiating collection calls, arranging payments or payment plans, handling high volumes of patient accounts, providing regular updates to leadership, processing invoices/credit requests, responding to inquiries from other departments, and maintaining confidentiality. Requires healthcare billing knowledge, familiarity with the No Surprises Act, strong math, and excellent written/verbal communication. Hybrid work arrangement with 4 days/week in the Nashville office; 2+ years of relevant healthcare administrative/financial experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years related work experience in health care administrative, financial, insurance, customer services, claims, billing, call center, or management
- Hybrid schedule of 4 days/week in Nashville office and located within 75 minutes' commuting distance
- Knowledge of medical billing practices
- Understanding of No Surprises Collections Act
- Knowledge of confidentiality requirements regarding patients and proper confidentiality
- Mathematics skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to handle large volumes of patient accounts weekly
- Experience navigating data from multiple internal sources to ensure balances are correct and ready for collections
