Collections Agent

Job Summary
A Collections Agent will review and analyze delinquent accounts, contact clients via phone and email to discuss repayment options, negotiate repayment plans, document all interactions in the company system, perform skip tracing to locate hard-to-reach customers, monitor accounts for compliance with payment plans, collaborate with Customer Service and Special Handling to resolve complex issues, stay updated on policies and regulatory requirements, and provide excellent customer service throughout the resolution process. Requires 2+ years in consumer collections and strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software; high school diploma or equivalent (degree preferred). The role involves working 10am–7pm shifts and maintaining client confidentiality and integrity while operating in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience in consumer collections
- Strong understanding of financial products, services, and regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
