Job Summary
Operate cold storage forklifts to move product, re-stack pallets, and stage outbound loads while verifying load numbers and box counts. Perform daily minor maintenance on equipment, apply labels, and conduct trailer inspections on an iPad to ensure shipments are accurate and undamaged. Adhere strictly to SOPs, HACCP guidelines, and quality/safety policies, including reporting nonconformities. Maintain clean work areas and communicate closely with the Warehouse Management Team and drivers. Requires forklift certification, one year of experience, and ability to work in minus 10°F freezer environments.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely drive and operate forklift
- Ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instruction in English
- Ability to work with minimal direction and by self at times
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to communicate clearly with warehouse co-workers and truck drivers frequently
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of Technology (iPad, Bar-code Scanners, or inventory management technology/Systems)
- Must have at least one year of previous forklift experience
- High School Diploma or Educational Equivalent
- Fork truck certification
- Requires ability to sit and drive a forklift for prolonged periods of time
- Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 55lbs
- Requires ability to work in a freezer environment with temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit
- Requires ability to climb on and off a forklift multiple times during shift
- Requires ability to safely operate equipment
- Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings
- Requires ability to hear and speak
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs
