Job Summary
Operate and set up the Cold Form Cell, including the Asahi, Wash Tank, and Annealing Ovens, while performing specialized tasks like loading programs and assembling tooling. Adjust manufacturing processes to produce quality parts safely, utilizing judgment for machine setup and minor maintenance. Monitor other operators at floor direction, cross-train co-workers, and troubleshoot work area systems or processes. Document work using the manufacturing system, review blueprints for specifications, and ensure proper waste disposal and minimized scrap. Maintain high housekeeping standards and perform machine maintenance such as oiling dies per work instructions.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- 2 years minimum experience in machine operating or related manufacturing processes
- 2 years minimum experience using hand tools such as, sockets, wrenches and torque wrenches
- Ability to read dial calipers and micrometers
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to perform mathematical functions using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to define problems, and make appropriate adjustments
- Ability to interpret more extensive technical instructions in diagram form and deal with more abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Specialized work area equipment or process experience on cold forming (extrusion) equipment or company product and secondary equipment or processes
- Manual dexterity and mechanically inclined
- Capable of training co-workers
- Able to follow quality plans and work instructions
- Uses a variety of common machine tools and gauges, calipers, etc.
- Reads blueprints
- Ability to read dial calipers and micrometers
