Job Summary
Understand and follow all safety processes and procedures, including the use of required PPE. Accurately read and record winding data from units being rewound, then wind AC, DC fields, armatures, wound rotors, and equalizers. Install or replace banding, perform stator core loss testing, and restore stator irons as needed. Work with winding random, mush, synchronous, and form coils, perform a battery of electrical tests, and dip and bake stators. Utilize bake ovens to cure varnish treatments and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. Handle lifting of objects up to 40 lbs, push and pull parts, kneel, crouch, stand, and walk frequently. Requires passing the RAM Mechanical Aptitude and color deficiency tests.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, technical or trade school or on the job training
- Passing the RAM administered Bennett Mechanical Aptitude test
- Passing the RAM administered color deficiency test
- Ability to understand and retain various skill related training and operational and Safety procedures
- Work varying shifts, weekends and holidays when required
- Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 40 lbs
- Occasionally push and pull parts, kneel and crouch
- Continuously stand and frequently walk
