Job Summary
Cognos Application Developer (Intermediate Programmer Analyst) contributing to the design, development, and optimization of Cognos-based reporting and analytics solutions. Responsibilities include building reports, dashboards, and scorecards; managing Cognos security; collaborating with business users to understand reporting needs; designing data models; migrating code between environments; training users on Adhoc reporting; providing technical leadership to teammates; and optimizing performance through tuning of reports and data models.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Cognos experience in an Applications Development role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong SQL skills essential for data extraction and manipulation
- Experience designing and developing Cognos reports, dashboards, and scorecards
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, table structures, and data modeling
- Experience migrating code to higher environments and supporting infra activities
- Ability to train and guide users on Adhoc reporting
- Ability to provide technical leadership to team members
- Experience with data visualization and performance tuning of reports and data models
- Familiarity with Jira, Jenkins, GitHub, and related tooling
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
