Job Summary
Conduct cognitive skills programming as scheduled, running groups of eight to twelve clients while adhering to program integrity. Evaluate clients' progress and goal achievement, communicating status regularly, and educate them on cognitive errors and behavioral techniques to counter destructive thinking patterns. Maintain accurate individual files, progress notes, and statistical reports, then coordinate services with caseworkers and community agencies. Train current employees on pertinent cognitive skills information and ensure clients are notified of their schedules. Manage time and work demands to meet established deadlines, traveling to different work sites if needed or directed by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Behavioral Science or related field
- Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have a driving record that does not preclude the employee from being covered by Agency liability insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Cognitive Theory
- Working knowledge of Social Learning Theory
- Prior experience in corrections or related field
- Must have the cognitive skills needed to complete tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem solving, and comprehending
- Has the ability to perform under stress and/or in emergencies
- Must have the ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population
