Job Summary
Cognitive Retraining Specialist role involving 1-on-1 work with 1–3 clients per day to build independence in home, work, and community. Duties include teaching memory strategies, planning, budgeting, and problem-solving; promoting social and communication skills; supporting safe navigation and community engagement; helping with study skills and vocational readiness; educating families and building natural support systems. Work is conducted in client homes, community settings, or volunteer/work sites, with ongoing paid training (2 weeks) and 5 weeks of mentorship. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with no nights/weekends/holidays; compensation is $20/hour plus mileage; full benefits for 32+ hours/week. Career progression to senior roles within Sevita is available. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in the specified fields and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; strong teamwork and communication skills are essential, with experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services/Education/Social Science (discipline examples: education, medicine, neuropsychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, sociology, counseling, rehabilitation science, recreation therapy, social work, special education, speech-language pathology)
- Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred
