Job Summary
Conduct customer service and ticket sales for the Cog Railway by answering questions, making travel suggestions, and booking reservations using the RocketRez system. Handle cash and credit card transactions while directing customers to boarding areas and assisting with ticket scanning. Maintain cleanliness of the depot, curio shop, parking areas, rest rooms, and waiting areas as required. Communicate politely via person, phone, and email, and possess basic computer and typing skills. Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with non-standard hours including weekends, holidays, and seasonal peaks from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Required Qualifications
- Basic computer and typing skills
- High school diploma or General Education Degree
- Cash handling a plus
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to communicate politely and effectively in person, by phone, and over email
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- One to two years related experience and/or training
- Work schedule is non-standard. Weekends and holidays required, some night and early morning work may be required
- Workload is seasonable with peak work coming in the summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day
- Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
