Job Summary
Deliver in-store coffee expertise by educating customers on brewing techniques like pour-over and espresso, guiding bean selections by flavor profile and origin, and conducting product demonstrations for espresso machines and grinders. Recommend appropriate equipment and accessories while driving sales of culinary products to meet revenue goals and KPIs such as class sign-ups and retail sales. Collaborate with store leaders on merchandising strategies and ensure compliance with food safety standards and local health codes. Maintain a coffee-ready environment, manage inventory levels to minimize shrink, and operate POS systems to record time worked accurately. Teach three to four classes weekly with flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays, while adhering to all store policies and SOPs.
Required Qualifications

- Capability to identify specific tastes or scents using the tongue or nose
- Ability to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to retrieve and replenish merchandise from stockroom or sales floor
- Ability to use hands to seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise to grind, tamp, steam, pour, froth, and/or demonstrate other coffee brewing techniques
- Ability to lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and/or move merchandise
- Ability to operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners and mouse to accomplish work
- Available to work between 12 and 16 hours per week
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Flexibility to adjust class assignments based on demand
- Ability to teach 3-4 classes per week
- Ability to work in a coffee bar area with exposure to hot equipment, steam, varying temperatures, and potential airborne and physical coffee-related allergens
