Job Summary
Greet customers warmly, learn their names, and go the extra mile to make every visit positive. Take orders at the counter and over the phone, assist with product finding, and prepare and replenish coffee shop items while monitoring freshness. Run the department register, process payments, and handle food safety and cleaning to maintain neat, up-to-standard work areas. Check in products, review invoices, remove trash, and work alongside teammates to ensure a smooth experience. Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and policies while assisting in other store areas as needed.
Required Qualifications
- ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation
- exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment
- ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards
- ability to follow written and verbal instructions with confidence
- ability to use basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording
- ability to communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way
- ability to stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy coffee shop environment
- ability to frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas
- ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties
- ability to maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred
