Job Summary
Greet guests promptly, take accurate orders, and process payments while preparing coffee, espresso, and light food items according to recipes. Maintain a clean, stocked front counter and operate espresso machines and grinders safely. Answer customer questions, offer menu recommendations, and resolve service issues professionally. Complete opening, closing, and side-work tasks including restocking, cleaning, and sanitizing while adhering to food safety standards. Work collaboratively with teammates to support smooth service during busy periods. This role combines hospitality, beverage preparation, and teamwork to keep daily operations running smoothly at Tex Best Travel Centers in Luling.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Food handler permit or ability to obtain one, if required by local regulations
- Previous barista, café, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn drink recipes, equipment use, and service standards
- Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday availability
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Lifting light to moderate supplies
- Working in a busy customer-facing environment
