Coding Services Quality Analyst

Job Summary
Remote role focused on ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality of medical coding and documentation. Responsibilities include auditing coded records for ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS compliance, identifying and correcting coding errors, monitoring adherence to HIPAA and CMS guidelines, compiling audit results into reports, tracking quality metrics, and providing training and feedback to coders. Collaboration with the Coding Services Manager and Director is required. Qualifications emphasize an AHIMA/ACCP-backed education path (AAS/BS in Health Information Management or related field), CPC/CCS certifications, at least 5 years in medical coding and auditing, mentoring experience, and strong knowledge of coding guidelines, EHR systems, and data analysis. The role may be remote, hybrid, or in-office depending on organizational needs and location in the US.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, or a related field (preferred)
- Certifications: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification required
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in medical coding
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience auditing coded records
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience mentoring staff
- Familiarity with various EHR systems and coding software
- Knowledge: ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS; medical terminology and anatomy
