Job Summary
Coach and mentor kids in coding and STEM curriculum, including JavaScript, C#, Unity, Godot, block-based languages, Minecraft, and more. Create a positive and safe environment while managing classroom behavior and facilitating hands-on activities involving computer programming, robotics, and technology projects. Lead engaging coding camps for multiple age groups and provide homework support to students. Perform daily opening and closing duties, pick up students from local schools, and maintain center equipment and facilities. Complete training courses on the coding curriculum and report daily activities to the Lead Sensei and Program Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Working history with children ages 7 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive environment
- Demonstrated experience with children ages 5-14 in babysitting, childcare, mentoring, coaching, tutoring, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequently
- Must be fun, and able to help our ninjas have fun too!
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledgeable about, or willingness to learn, introductory concepts in JavaScript and Godot
- Skills in Minecraft, Roblox, robotics, or 3D printing
- Knowledge of coding & technology and computer science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, discrete math, and machine learning
- Familiarity with special education strategies or working with diverse learning needs
