Job Summary
Coder Physician reviews medical records and performs coding on diagnoses, procedures, DRG/APC, and charge codes; assigns principal/secondary diagnoses and procedures with correct sequencing; uses DRG/APC reimbursement expertise; abstracts data into software systems; maintains compliance with HIPAA, JCAHO, CMS and other regulations; tracks productivity and maintains 95% quality; remote home-office role in the US; requires AHIMA/APC coding certification and CIRCC credential; strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in coding conventions and data reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program
- minimum of two to four years of current production coding experience in both acute care and profee
- Must have CIRCC certification
