Job Summary
Coder Inpatient reviews medical records and codes diagnoses/procedures for inpatient, with focus on accurate DRG/APC coding across specialties (cardiothoracic, neurology, spinal, orthopedics, general medicine, general surgery). Uses Epic and 3M encoders, adheres to AHIMA/AMA/CMS guidelines, maintains HIPAA/compliance, and supports quality and financial objectives. Requires CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials and a Monday–Friday 8a–5p PST schedule in a full-time, remote-capable role.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program
- minimum of two to four years of current production coding experience in both acute care and profee
- active CCS, RHIT or RHIA credential
