Job Summary
Translate narrative descriptions of diseases, injuries, and medical procedures into numeric or alphanumeric codes for billing using established policies. Code all types of inpatient, observation, and outpatient cases, including clinics, ancillary services, ambulatory surgery, emergency room cases, and highly complex records such as trauma, burns, and transplant cases based on experience and skill set. This Certified Coder II role supports the corporate coding function within outpatient ancillary services, focusing on accurate translation of clinical data into standardized codes for reimbursement.
