Job Summary
Actively take orders, conduct full food and beverage service, and monitor the dining experience while presenting menus, answering questions, and making suggestions. Anticipate guest needs, solicit allergy or dietary restrictions, and ensure delivery of all items. Accurately enter orders into the POS system, follow payment procedures, and complete end-of-shift financial tasks. Maintain station and venue cleanliness, set tables, stock side-stations, and perform opening and closing procedures. Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with state regulations and comply with sanitation standards. Communicate guest needs to support staff, managers, and chefs. Attend daily pre-service meetings, training sessions, and departmental meetings. Report equipment breakage or damage immediately to management.
Required Qualifications
- Previous hospitality experience
- Previous dining room experience
- Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge
- Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate
- Must have good positive energy throughout the day
- Must be able to print legibly for Team Members, management, and guests to read
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to move quickly
- Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance
- Must be effective as part of a team
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
- Must be able to work extended hours irregular shifts, evening and/or weekend shifts, and holiday work
- Must maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
- Must serve all alcoholic beverages in accordance with all state regulations and alcohol awareness training standards
- Must comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards
- Must accurately enter all orders into the POS system and follow proper cash/payment card procedures
- Must solicit any allergy or dietary restrictions from each guest
- Must properly set-up floor and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management
- Must attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings
- Must attend and participate in any training sessions or departmental meetings
- Must accurately complete all end-of-shift financial procedures
- Must present menus, answer questions, and make suggestions for all food and beverage items
- Must inform guests of all food and beverage specials, with prices
- Must ensure the delivery of all food and beverage to the guests
- Must anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests
- Must maintain general cleanliness of assigned stations and the entire venue
- Must provide professional and attentive service at all times
- Must follow supervisor's instructions, communicate with and support co-workers while being a team player
- Must possess in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company
- Must report all breakage, and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management
- Must ensure all tables, chairs and banquettes are clean and free of debris
- Must set tables with proper settings
- Must wipe down chairs, tables, and banquettes
- Must stock side-stations with prescribed supplies
- Must perform opening side-work as prescribed
- Must perform closing side-work as prescribed
- Must learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example
- Must portray a positive and professional attitude
- Must demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments
