Job Summary
Own and guide the connector validation domain for new product development, change validation, and field issue replication. Define validation plans aligned with product safety, customer specifications, and industry standards, then design, execute, and optimize programs covering mechanical, electrical, and environmental tests. Drive root cause analysis for validation failures using tools like SEM and FEA correlation while managing internal test lab capabilities and equipment. Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional design reviews to support Design for Reliability principles. Author robust testing protocols, validation plans (DVP&R), and lab SOPs, serving as technical liaison with customers and certification bodies. Evaluate updates to testing standards including USCAR, IEC, and ISO, contributing to global validation process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level knowledge of connector technologies, design failure modes, and reliability risks
- Deep understanding of global testing standards (USCAR, IEC, ISO, JOEM)
- Advanced analytical and diagnostic skills (FMEA, 8D, RCA, Fish bone, etc.)
- Experience with lab management, test automation systems (LabVIEW/TestStand), and environmental chambers
- Proven leadership in cross-functional and cross-regional engineering teams
- Strong documentation, report writing, and customer-facing communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple validation projects under tight timelines
- Experience on theoretical calculations related to connector testings
- Ability to interact with Cross functional teams
- Problem solving & analytical capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing skills, and business acumen
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical
- 6 + years of experience
Desired Qualifications
- Work experience in connector industry / automotive domain
- Exposure to plastic injection molding tooling, sheet metal (forming, stamping) tools, connector assembly tools
- Knowledge on Electrical Vehicles High Voltage connector
- Experience/participation in DRBFM/focus matrix and FMEA for connector
- Knowledge in project management tools like MS project & other MS office tools
- Strong background in automotive, aerospace, rail, medical, or industrial automation sectors
- Experience in accredited test labs or leading product validation organizations
- Risk assessment knowledge
- German language
