Job Summary

Collaborate with technical and functional analysts to troubleshoot incidents and understand emerging business opportunities. Maintain and enhance system functionality using COBOL, MANTIS, JCL, and Assembler languages while developing, testing, and implementing mainframe applications. Participate in requirements analysis, design, and testing activities, applying utility tools for analysis and reporting. Compile comprehensive documentation for changes, testing, and audits, and perform root cause analysis alongside peer code reviews. Successfully close out Test Discrepancy Reports and contribute to smooth System Integration and Acceptance Testing cycles. Support the client's mission by ensuring applications remain secure, compliant, and operational for contract administration and entitlement processing.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active DoD Common Access Card (CAC) or equivalent PIV credentials backed by a final, favorably adjudicated Tier 3 (or higher) investigation
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CCNA-Security, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CASP CE, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH)
  • Associate degree or higher
  • 10+ years experience working with COBOL programs integrated into enterprise systems
  • Proficiency in ISPF and CICS for mainframe programming and application support
  • Strong working knowledge of JCL, Flat-Files, CopyLibs, and database updates, including hierarchical (SUPRA) and modern database models
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing applications using COBOL, MANTIS, JCL, and Assembler programming languages
  • Familiarity with mainframe utilities and applications such as File Master, Test-rite, and SAR
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams throughout the development cycle
  • Experience providing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) support for sustainment projects, including development, testing, and maintenance of improvements
  • Proven ability to compile accurate technical documentation and reports to support maintenance, audits, and user reference
  • Hands-on experience with System Integration Testing (SIT) and System Acceptance Testing (SAT), including resolving Test Discrepancy Reports (TDRs)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
