Job Summary
Perform analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of complex applications and functional programs associated with the eMedNY Medicaid Management Information System. Resolve production issues and adhere to eMedNY Program standards for specification development, code review, unit testing, and SDLC documentation. Stay current with industry technical trends and prepare effort estimates for systemic enhancements. Requires 5+ years of COBOL, CICS, and DB2 experience; salary $85,000–$100,000; located in Albany, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of IT experience
- 5+ years of experience with COBOL, CICS, and DB2
- Knowledge and experience with NYS MMIS or other healthcare systems
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange, including HIPAA X12 5010 and NCPDP D.0
- Strong technical skills with COBOL, CICS, and DB2
- Knowledge of Structured Query Language
- Knowledge of mainframe technologies and open systems interfaces and technologies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with customers, support personnel, application development personnel, and management
- Ability to work in a team environment with multiple team members, as well as productively as an individual
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
