Job Summary
Assist with selection of birds at ~6 weeks of age by identifying gender, catching, scanning wing band numbers, and auditing market birds for wing bands; move birds within the complex; maintain clean boot room areas and equipment; monitor ventilation and lighting; identify assigned coop birds; assist with setup for selection (loading coops, placing catch frames, setting up scales and scanners); dispose of dead birds daily; and support with related duties including biosecurity compliance and safe disposal. Requires physical endurance, ability to lift up to 50 lbs (and occasionally more), and adherence to safety and animal-welfare policies in a biosecure poultry farm environment. Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 6 months of consecutive work history
- No major employment gaps greater than 6 months in past 36 months
- Ability to perform physical duties (lifting, standing, walking) in farm environment
- Willingness to comply with biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines
- Ability to work shifts including holidays and start times may vary
