Job Summary
Maintenance Generalist at Cobb-Vantress is responsible for assisting in installing, repairing, and servicing QA facility and Contract Grower houses with minor repairs, projects and equipment. Duties include general maintenance of QA facility and grounds, servicing equipment and modules, maintaining wash bay pressure washers and fuel levels, changing disinfectant and soap drums, and supporting farm projects such as bird proofing and biosecurity/AW improvements. The role requires use of hand and power tools, reading/writing and basic math, the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, standing and walking on concrete floors, and adherence to safety policies and PPE usage. The position operates in a biosecure environment with company-provided safety gear and requires flexibility for on-call needs and potential training or vaccination-related tasks, with a work schedule subject to production needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.
- If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care, the employment gap will be increased to 18 months.
- Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
- Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
- Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
- Must be willing to sign an agreement to biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines.
