Job Summary
Hatchery Worker (Utility Position) on 1st shift at Cobb-Vantress Hatchery in Wadesboro, NC. Responsibilities include assessing chick comfort by monitoring vent temperatures, recording temperatures in Excel, reading/setters and hatcher room temperatures, aiding maintenance with equipment, dumping cull eggs, sorting chicks per Animal Welfare standards, and euthanizing weak/ill chicks per policy. Must adhere to biosecurity and animal-welfare guidelines, wear required PPE, and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving heavy equipment. Starting wage $18/hour with shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends; full-time with benefits from day 1. Prioritize internal applicants; US residency required for interview. Training includes safety policies and company standards; background checks may apply.
Required Qualifications
- At least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer
- No employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months
- Willing to work 8:00 AM shift and 8-10 hour shifts
- Must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview
- Willing to sign company biosecurity and animal welfare guidelines
- Ability to read and record data in Excel
- Able to perform physical requirements including lifting and moving heavy objects
- Background checks may be required
