Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of specialty trade projects from mobilization to completion, managing on-site crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient execution. Develop and maintain project schedules, review plans and blueprints for compliance, and monitor progress by tracking milestones and resolving delays. Enforce strict safety regulations, perform regular inspections, and coordinate material deliveries and equipment rentals. Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, address on-site conflicts, and prepare progress reports while managing budgets and tracking expenses. Ensure all documentation, including change orders and daily logs, remains up to date.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in the specialty trade industry
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, project management, and specialty trade practices
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, project plans, and specifications
- Extensive knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to enforce safety standards on-site
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise with clients, vendors, and team members
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Occasional travel
- Ability to lift over 20 pounds, including lifting and carrying materials
- Ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Additional technical training or certifications in specialty trade or construction management
- Certification in OSHA safety training or other relevant trade certifications
- Experience in managing large-scale or complex specialty trade projects
- Proficiency in construction management software or tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, etc.)
