Job Summary

Coatings and Materials Repair Engineer focused on repair and restoration of critical gas turbine engine components (PT6, PW100, PW300, PW500) with emphasis on CVD aluminum coatings, platinum plating, and protective coating systems. Responsibilities include evaluating and optimizing materials and special processes (nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys, brazing, diffusion bonding, aluminide and protective coatings, thermal/plasma spray), developing and validating repair schemes, authoring technical reports and qualification packages, presenting findings to leadership and customers, collaborating with repair cells, quality, and engineering teams, and driving process improvements and cost reductions. Requires 5+ years (or 8+ years for Bachelor's) of relevant experience and an advanced degree in materials or metallurgical engineering. The role is onsite in Wichita Falls, TX, USA, within RTX/Pratt & Whitney’s aerospace materials and coatings focus, with learning opportunities in MRO environments and coating technologies. The position is US-based and involves interaction with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders across engineering and manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related engineering discipline OR Bachelor's degree with minimum 8 years of relevant experience in materials/special processes
