Job Summary
Operate vacuum coating chambers to deposit coatings on components for military and commercial applications. Clean optical parts, prepare components for loading into coating fixtures, and measure final coated products. Handle high-value products with appropriate care and precision while following strict operating procedures under supervision. This role supports the coating process to increase output levels and efficiently manufacture products. Flexibility of working hours and availability for overtime may be required.
Required Qualifications
- good level of education
- qualifications in mathematics and science at GCSE level (or equivalent)
- willingness to learn new skills
- positive attitude to work
- engineering based background (preferably involving high-value / precision made products)
- knowledge production processes
- practical experience
- Flexibility of working hours
- availability to work overtime to meet business needs
Desired Qualifications
- Physics or Maths based qualification(s) at A-Level (or equivalent) standard or higher
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (preferably involving high-value/precision-made products)
- An appreciation of mechanical principles
- AS9100 awareness and/or experience
- Optical Handling experience
- competence in the use of PC's
