Job Summary
Machine Tender in the Coating department responsible for operating and maintaining tape manufacturing equipment, preparing materials, performing machine setups and changeovers, assisting with quality control and troubleshooting. Duties include loading raw materials, handling chemicals and coatings in a hazardous environment, loading, splicing, and threading material rolls, performing safety checks, operating forklifts, recording material usage, training new employees on machine operation and safety, and ensuring a clean, organized work area. Requires rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends), adherence to safety procedures (lockout/tagout) and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Forklift license or ability to obtain and maintain one
- Bilingual in French is an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and machine setup manuals
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working under pressure and meeting production deadlines
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and production procedures
