Job Summary
Load optics into fixtures, clean and inspect under a microscope, and determine if surface quality meets customer specifications. Perform reflectivity testing on spectrophotometers or lasers based on product wavelengths, unload coated crystals, and enter WO data into the MRP system. Prepare optical substrates for thin film disposition while following ISO procedures and policies. Work in a cleanroom environment with minimal chemical exposure, adhering to site EHS standards and company values. This 2nd shift role supports Coherent Corp.'s optics manufacturing operations within the Quality Management and Environmental Management Systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 5+ years previous experience in material inspection
- Demonstrated ability to see and handle small parts
- Previous experience using a microscope
- Must be able to work on repetitive tasks
- Basic data entry skills
- Willing/able to work in a cleanroom environment, fully gowned
- Willing/able to work with minimal exposure to chemicals such as, methanol and isopropanol
- Follow site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards
- Execution and maintenance of ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in an optics manufacturing environment or similar technical training
- Some college in physics, chemistry, engineering and/or math
- Experience in optics cleaning and inspection
- Experience in optical coating technologies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Accurate data entry skills MRP/ERP experience
