Job Summary
Operate and maintain coal handling systems and related plant equipment at Antelope Valley Station. Responsibilities include routine tool maintenance, logging events, assisting with conveyor operations for coal reception and transport, unloading lime cars, tagging switches/equipment for safe maintenance, assisting with snow removal, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires high school diploma or equivalent (GED/HSED) or Completion Certificate in Power/Process Plant Technology, valid driver's license, ability to travel, and completion of AVS Coalman qualification program. Must be respirator qualified with physical ability to lift and operate various heavy equipment; exposure to indoor industrial environments and potential hazards.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and 1 year of Power Generation, Thermal Plant, or related power plant experience; or Certificate of Completion in Power or Process Plant Technology.
- A valid driver's license.
- Travel may be required.
- Successful completion of the AVS Coalman qualification program and received experience proving proficiency to be classified as upgradeable (E qualified); or Completion of the AVS Coalman qualification program within 90 days of hire.
