Job Summary
Recruit, educate, and train community members to assist with policy development, secondhand smoke outreach, and housing ordinance implementation. Coordinate weekly in-person activities and major events in Marin County while managing coalition meetings, agendas, and minutes. Build leadership capacity among residents and groups to drive systemic change, preparing members for public speaking and media interviews. Develop fact sheets, e-newsletters, and social media updates; maintain the coalition website and gather community-based data. Track outreach engagement using a database, submit progress reports, and manage community health records. Schedule Zoom meetings and communicate with stakeholders including government organizations and community-based groups.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or surrounding counties
- Must be able to coordinate weekly, in-person activities in Marin County
- Must be able to join up with the team in office
- Must have a history of leadership in the fight for health equity and social justice
- Must have solid administrative experience
- Must have demonstrated experience working with policy-makers and community stakeholders to promote policy change
- Must have experience in public health, tobacco and/or policy
- Must have demonstrated commitment to issues of equity, social justice, diversity and cultural competency
- Must have demonstrated capacity facilitating groups, achieving consensus, and taking action
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must have confidence in public speaking
- Must have the ability to balance competing demands
- Must be Spanish – English Bilingual
- Must have knowledge of Marin County
