Job Summary
Oversee all aspects of the Girls Basketball Program including player development, game strategies, and team leadership, tryouts, practices, and games. Develop and execute an effective training program while instructing student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training. Motivate and mentor athletes on and off the court, fostering teamwork, discipline, respect, and sportsmanship while ensuring their safety and well-being. Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies. Cooperate with the School Athletic Director and District Athletic Department regarding information requests and adhere to District Board of Education, OHSAA, and ODE mandates. Participate in clinics, school events, and awards nights. Model expected behavior including timeliness, positivity, and respectful constructive criticism. Accept constructive criticism for improving coaching performance and implement applicable administrative policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be passionate and dedicated to inspire student-athletes
- Have the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes
- Serve as a positive role model
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills associated with the sport
- Possess an Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupil Activity Permit (PAP)
- Provide proof of completion of Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification
- Provide satisfactory result of County Police Records Check, State BCII Check, and a FBI Fingerprint Background Check
Desired Qualifications
- Fundraising experience
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and strategies
- Previous experience coaching basketball preferred
- Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred
- Evidence of successful past coaching experience at the High School and/or College level desired
