Job Summary
Head Coach for Willowcreek Cross Country tasked with developing sport-specific activities, scheduling practices and competitions, maintaining rosters and equipment, monitoring academic progress for eligibility, promoting sportsmanship and leadership among student-athletes, coordinating facilities and parent communications, and ensuring compliance with IHSAA/NFHS rules and coaching certifications. Requires ability to lead with fairness and empathy, communicate with stakeholders (students, parents, staff, community), and uphold district policies and values. Salary is a stipend paid according to the season; physical demands include standard athletic duties and annual clearances.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of the sport assigned
- Familiar with IHSAA and NFHS rules concerning the sport assigned
- IHSAA and NFHS Coaching Certification preferred (training available)
- First Aid and CPR certified as well as knowledge and understanding of the concussion protocol (training available)
- Ability to communicate with parents and students
- Ability to address situations dealing with blood, bodily fluids, and tissue
- Ability to foster positive student-athlete relationships, and to work effectively with students, staff, parents and the community
- Exhibits high standards of professional ethics and conduct
- Successfully complete criminal history and DCS clearances
