Job Summary
Drive fixed-route buses in Benton and Franklin County to transport passengers adhering to established time schedules and traffic regulations. Conduct thorough visual pre-and post-trip inspections, collect fares, and assist passengers with boarding, alighting, and mobility devices. Troubleshoot enroute problems, handle passenger conflicts, and respond to medical emergencies while notifying dispatch. Complete daily paperwork including timesheets, incident reports, and passenger counts. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform simple emergency repairs. Work seven days a week, including weekends, from Monday through Sunday.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- 21 years of age
- five years of driving experience
- valid Washington State driver license
- Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) or Washington State Commercial Learner Permit with passenger endorsement and no air brake restriction
- corresponding DOT medical certification
- Visual acuity of at least 20/40 in each eye, with or without corrective lenses

- Must be available to work seven days a week (Monday-Sunday), including weekends during all hours of operation
- Must obtain and maintain the following licenses and certifications for continued employment at BFT
