Job Summary
Head Football Coach at Endeavor Middle School responsible for organizing, supervising, and evaluating practice sessions; implementing a safety plan; arranging transportation to sports events; teaching fundamentals and changes in rules; modeling sportsmanship; communicating with parents about attendance, discipline, and injuries; coordinating with staff and assistants on scouting and staff meetings; ensuring equipment care and facility maintenance; adhering to WIAA and district policies; completing required safety and coaching standards; and motivating student-athletes within the district Athletics Department framework.
Required Qualifications
- Valid First Aid and CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain prior to the start of season
- Ability to meet WIAA age requirements applicable to the position
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to carry out duties compliant with district policies
- Knowledge of modern coaching trends, techniques, and strategies
- Organizational skills to manage a program
- Ability to supervise practice sessions
- Desire to motivate players
- Relate professionally to staff and the public
- Inform parents about attendance, discipline, and injury information
- Demonstrate sportsmanship and professional conduct
- Experience teaching and developing skills to student-athletes
- Ability to schedule and provide transportation for events
- Instruct players on rule changes and fundamentals of the sport
- Ensure safety and proper equipment use
- Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment care
- Attend staff meetings and coordinate scouting assignments with assistant coaches
- Complete required SafeSchools training annually
- Complete WIAA coaching standard courses by the third week of the season
- Support district equity and nondiscrimination policies
