Job Summary
Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Use instructional techniques to improve student athletes' abilities, coordinate sport development, and hold organizational workouts within the tryout deadline. Develop regular practice schedules, enforce student discipline during contests and off-property trips, and maintain equipment, uniforms, and facility records for MCSAO compliance. Assist with college recruitment, participate in senior night and pep assemblies, and follow established procedures for athlete injuries. The season runs August-October 2025 with a stipend of $1,500.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience coaching volleyball at the high school level
- effective coaching knowledge, techniques and skills
- knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (MCSAO), opponents, staff, parents, and students
- ability to communicate in spoken and written words
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- ability to relate to students and to teach them on and off the area of play
- willingness to accept a high level of accountability
- ability to assess players and coaches effectively
