Job Summary
Teach soccer fundamentals, rules, and safety while leading practices to prepare players for competition. Supervise all students during activities, monitor scholastic eligibility, and maintain documentation for physical exams and parental consent. Model ethical behavior and sportsmanship, ensuring proper equipment and facility safety. Report injuries to administration and accompany injured players requiring medical attention. Manage public relations with parents, media, and officials while building community support for the program.
Required Qualifications
- Previous successful varsity coaching experience
- Experience in playing the sport at the collegiate or high school level

- Current First Aid/CPR card
- Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
- Appropriate certification as determined by WIAA, the state and the District
- Knowledge, compliance and commitment to follow WIAA regulations
- Valid Washington State driver's license or evidence of mobility
- I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act
- Completion of all district-required trainings within thirty (30) calendar days from hire date
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Proof of Immunization preferred(if born 1/1/57 or later)
- Knowledge of fundamentals of the game/sport, practice organization, rules, safety, and game management
- Ability to organize and supervise a total activity program
- Ability to organize and demonstrate skills to both assistants and athletes
- Ability to communicate in a positive manner with students, parents, staff, the community, and the media
- Ability to motivate a variety of individual personalities toward a successful and positive learning/playing experience
- Ability to analyze the game and to create appropriate training sessions that reflect those observations
- Allow involvement and decision-making of players and student participants to the degree appropriate
- Encourage and recognize positive conduct at student activities
- Model sportsmanlike conduct in dealing with officials and opponents regardless of the circumstances
- Knowledge of proper English grammar, spelling, and usage in both oral and written communication
- Ability to handle confidential matters and information in a professional manner
- Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with district staff to enhance the completion of assigned tasks
- Ability and willingness to upgrade skills to maintain the highest level of efficiency and high-quality work
