Job Summary
Implement and supervise daily activities for youth and teens to foster social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth in a safe, organized environment. Assist in planning and executing lesson plans tailored to children's needs while ensuring proper sign-in/out procedures and maintaining quality supplies and equipment. Take full responsibility for child safety, report accidents and abuse suspicions immediately, and complete all required health logs and paperwork. Participate in member retention, special events, and fundraising while adhering to emergency procedures and family center policies. Assume equal share of housekeeping duties including cleaning and project setup. Work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations, performing medium physical work involving lifting up to 50 lbs. Maintain acceptable hearing and visual capabilities to monitor the environment and children's well-being in a moderate to loud setting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 16 years or older
- Morning Availability Needed
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date
- Must exhibit patience and understanding
- Must be capable of working under pressure in a somewhat disruptive environment
- Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor environment and children's well-being
- Talking is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, with or without correction
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to lift and carry a negligible amount of force constantly
- Must be able to perform medium work
- Must be able to stoop, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions
- Must be able to sit, stand, or maintain physical activity for extended periods of time
- Must complete a successful employment verification and background screening, which includes a DCF Level 2 Background Check
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of childcare experience preferred
