Job Summary
Implement and supervise daily child development activities, including afterschool programs, while ensuring a safe, healthy, and well-organized environment for youth. Assist in planning and executing lesson plans tailored to children's needs, manage sign-in/out procedures, and maintain strict safety protocols by reporting accidents and abuse suspicions immediately. Assume equal responsibility for housekeeping, cleaning, and preparing materials, while completing all required paperwork and emergency procedures. Participate in member retention, special events, and fundraising efforts. Maintain current CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications. Work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays, with an on-call rotation, in a moderate to loud environment requiring physical stamina for lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 16 years or older
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required
- Must exhibit patience and understanding
- Must be alert at all times, keeping safety in mind
- Must possess acceptable hearing and visual capabilities in order to monitor environment and children's well-being
- Talking is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, with or without correction
- Must be capable of working under pressure in a somewhat disruptive environment
- Must complete successful background screening, which includes criminal and employment verification
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of childcare experience preferred
