Job Summary

Lead medical leadership for quality, patient safety, and workforce planning across the Vancouver Community of Care. Provide oversight for safety event investigations, implement accreditation standards, and manage credentialing, privileging, and contracting processes for medical staff. Partner with the VP of Operations to drive service planning, operational flow, and resource stewardship while ensuring compliance with budget and quality targets. Manage professional conduct issues, oversee medical governance, and lead recruitment and succession planning aligned with the Health Service Delivery Plan. Contribute to system-wide strategy, build external partnerships, and integrate learners into clinical settings. Operate in a co-Senior Medical Director dyad model with shared accountability to the Board and VPMAA.

Required Qualifications

  • A Doctor of Medicine Degree or Nurse Practitioner Degree
  • Certification or licensure in good standing with the appropriate regulatory College
  • Minimum ten years' recent experience in progressive senior medical leadership roles
  • Eligibility for a faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine (for MD holders)
  • Eligibility for a faculty appointment with a School of Nursing at a post-secondary institution in British Columbia (for NP holders)

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or Public Health
