Job Summary

Co-Response Team Coordinator coordinates the NYPD-DOHMH Co-Response Team model to provide clinical assessments, de-escalation, field-based case management, and collaboration with city agencies to connect clients to long-term treatment and support services. Responsibilities include conducting field work, maintaining a caseload, gathering information in real time, onboarding trainings (including NYPD Crisis Intervention Training), cross-training in intake and data entry, collaborating with NYPD partners, building relationships with community providers, coordinating with hospitals and emergency services regarding involuntary hospitalizations, documenting contacts and progress notes, and participating in trainings and meetings. Required skills include bilingual Spanish (highly preferred), crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, violence risk identification, strong partnership-building abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment. The role requires a master’s degree in social work or equivalent, licensure (LCSW/LMSW) or eligibility with supervision, and a minimum of two years of direct service experience with highly vulnerable populations; the position may offer work-from-home options depending on assignment.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited graduate school of social work with a master's degree or equivalent
  • Four years of full-time paid experience in public health, medical or psychiatric social work, with at least two years in supervisory/administrative/consultative capacity
  • Within 18 months of appointment, obtain Certified Social Worker (CSW) by NYS Education Department
