Job Summary
Conduct embedded software and utility software design and programming while developing and executing unit tests. Perform hardware/software integration testing, CAN network simulation, and system level testing across electronic systems with multiple controllers. Execute proof of concept projects on motor control, IoT, and machine learning, alongside mechatronic design and sensor evaluation. Support development of functional test plans, test automation design, and process improvement using Python scripting. Manage control system setup, PID tuning, and instrumentation commissioning on test benches. Manage multiple projects simultaneously under mentorship while working independently on real-world prototyping and on-water system testing.
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an Engineering program at an accredited university
- Software design and programming skills in C / C++, especially for embedded systems
- Familiarity with CAN bus networks and protocols
- Experience with serial communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, Modbus
- Exposure to unit, functional, integration, and automated testing
- Proficiency with engineering tools including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electronics, motors and sensors is an asset
