Co-Op Operator

Co-Op Operator program lasting 17 weeks; the role shadows a qualified operator to orient the student to operator duties in a chemical manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include monitoring production to meet target rates and specifications, drawing raw materials and finished product samples, completing equipment checklists, lubricating as needed, identifying process issues and communicating them up the chain, participating in shift handovers and safety/quality initiatives, maintaining housekeeping, and complying with safety, health, environmental, GMP, and responsible care requirements. Candidates must have HS Diploma or equivalent and be enrolled in a 2-year Process Operations/Operating Technology program (with graduation planned by the end of the current semester); a GPA of 3.0 is preferred. Proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office, as well as TWIC eligibility, strong written/oral communication skills, and the ability to work in variable conditions and at height are expected. The program emphasizes collaboration across diverse teams and provides a pathway to develop understanding of process equipment and operator duties under direct supervision.
