Job Summary
Plant Operator Intern/Co-op will operate processing units, monitor startup/shutdown, and control local variables (temperature, pressure, flow) to maintain product specifications. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining equipment, reviewing logs, reading schedules, checking leaks and gauges, performing basic maintenance under guidance, communicating with the console supervisor, adjusting process parameters, operating pumps and compressors, monitoring safety devices, and ensuring proper operation during 12-hour rotating shifts. Pre-employment testing is required as part of the application process. Preferred familiarity with Microsoft Office is noted.
Required Qualifications
- 2 year Process Operator degree or equivalent experience
- Must be a current student at Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College – Orange or Lamar State College – Port Arthur.
