Job Summary
Co-op Estimator responsible for supporting accurate and timely cost estimates, budgets, and schedules for assigned projects. Analyzes documents, specifications, proposals, and addenda; assists with RFPs and tender submissions; helps prepare quantity take-offs from construction drawings; researches and obtains pricing from suppliers/subcontractors; assists with prequalification submissions, RFQs, and RFIs; aids in estimate creation for bid submissions (labor, equipment, material, rentals, subcontracts); attends site visits; ensures proper documentation distribution upon award; collects data for KPI reports; maintains project files; provides technical support to field staff; coordinates scope changes; adheres to Aecon’s risk management policies; maintains estimating data systems; performs additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in Civil / Construction / Electrical or Business Diploma or Degree Program
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents
- Knowledge of job cost fundamentals and basic accounting / reporting principles an asset
- Strong computer skills – MS Excel / Word / Project and estimating software
- Excellent communication skills – oral and written
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
