Job Summary
Operational support and resources for the EHS team, including input and completion of project Accident/Incident reports, tracking submissions, and following up on corrective actions. Coordinate delivery of site Employee Safety Meetings, upload safety documentation for auditing, and conduct field Behavioral Based Observations and walk downs. Assist EHS personnel with site inspections, PPE supply distribution, and new work area start-ups by providing necessary templates and documentation. Provide regular feedback to the Safety Manager on BBOs, inspections, and submission status to identify improvement areas. Duration is 8, 12, or 16 months. Requires a G license, OPG Security Clearance, and a degree in Occupational Health and Safety. Pay range is $23-$28 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a university or college degree/diploma in Occupational health and safety or related field
- Construction Industry Experience
- Valid G license
- OPG Security Clearance
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing reports
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to be self-motivated and work effectively with minimal direction
- Effective organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure work environment
- Collaborative team approach and ability to build successful working relationships with clients and project teams
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of construction site safety requirements and / or provincial legislation an asset
