Job Summary
Conduct individual, group, family counseling, and crisis intervention for clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Develop, implement, and evaluate integrated treatment plans using motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies. Coordinate care coordination services including ASAM-based level of care placements, family education, and collaboration with community partners like DSHS and courts. Document all client services and participate in daily staff meetings and treatment planning reviews. Provide education on substance use and health self-management while monitoring LRA compliance and facilitating extensions with MCOT.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field
- Completing Master's internship requirements
- Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration
- Must meet qualifications for Substance Use Disorder Professional or Trainee
- Experience working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders
- Must meet qualifications for Substance Use Disorder Professional or possess a Co-Occurring Disorder Specialist License Enhancement (RCW 18.205.105)
- Working knowledge and skill in verbal de-escalation skills as outlined in MPAC/CPI trainings and other agency-mandated trainings
- Working knowledge of psychotropic medications and their side effects and contraindications with drugs of abuse
- Working knowledge of current Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health treatment recommendations
- Working knowledge of trends in community mental health
- Working knowledge of health care reform
- Working knowledge of electronic medical record
- Working knowledge of computer technology
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients, organizations, and the public
- Communication skills to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively, organizing workload by prioritizing and managing multiple tasks
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners such as CRT, housing team, treatment teams, AIU, Residential, KMHS
- Ability to stand

Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field
- Washington State associate clinical license (LICSW-A, LMHC-A, LMFT-A) or higher
